Doha: Qatari newspapers on Friday highlighted the State of Qatar's comprehensive vision that embodies its approach to achieving sustainable development across all social, economic, environmental, and digital dimensions, within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030, which places the human being at the center of the development process as both its means and ultimate goal.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers discussed interconnected themes reaffirming Qatar's growing position as a global platform for developmental dialogue, and shedding light on its continuous efforts to empower people, strengthen social cohesion, and safeguard society in both the real and digital spheres.
By focusing on the upcoming Second World Summit for Social Development 2025, to be hosted in Doha from November 4 to 6, the newspapers presented a comprehensive picture of Qatar's leading role in shaping the global development agenda. They also emphasized the depth of the country's national policies, which are grounded in the principles of social justice, empowerment of vulnerable groups, and the protection of digital security as a new pillar of comprehensive development in the digital era.
In its editorial titled "Qatar Strengthens Its Social Development Efforts," Al-Raya reviewed the philosophical foundations underpinning Qatar National Vision 2030, which regards social development as one of the main pillars of sustainable progress. The paper noted that the State continues to work toward building a cohesive, just, and secure society in which the human being is both the focus and the ultimate goal of development, through comprehensive policies based on justice, equality, and the promotion of family values and social solidarity.
It affirmed that the social development pillar forms the essence of the State's ambitious vision to build an inclusive society founded on mutual respect, cultural diversity, and community empowerment. The paper pointed out that Qatar's efforts in this field include strengthening family cohesion, empowering women, supporting vulnerable groups, and preserving national identity and cultural heritage.
Al-Raya added that Qatar's hosting of the Second World Summit for Social Development 2025 reflects this integrated vision, as the summit represents a pivotal moment in the trajectory of global social development and an opportunity to renew international commitment to social justice and to place the human being at the heart of the development process.
The paper further noted that Qatar National Vision 2030 seeks to build an effective social protection system that guarantees civil rights and ensures a decent standard of living for all citizens. The State, it said, has launched various programs to secure a dignified life and comprehensive care for all segments of society without discrimination, in full alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
For its part, Al-Sharq, in its editorial titled "Second World Summit for Social Development," highlighted Qatar's preparations to host this major international event, which comes thirty years after the landmark Copenhagen Conference of 1995, stressing that the upcoming summit in Doha will embody the international community's renewed commitment to social justice.
The paper noted that the summit, which will bring together more than 8,000 participants representing governments, international organizations, institutions, academia, the private sector, and youth, is among the world's largest events in terms of participation and agenda. It aims to accelerate efforts to eradicate poverty, promote decent work, and enhance social inclusion to ensure that no one is left behind.
Al-Sharq pointed out that the preparatory media briefing held in New York, with the participation of HE Qatar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani reaffirmed the State's full readiness to host the summit, which is expected to culminate with the adoption of the Doha Political Declaration as a key reference guiding future global efforts in the field of social development.
The paper concluded that through this summit, the State of Qatar reaffirms its leadership in supporting the international sustainable development agenda and its firm belief that the human being is the true wealth and cornerstone of stability and progress.
