Qatar’s Progress in Civil, Educational, Health, and Food Sectors Highlighted

Doha: In line with the vision of building a safe and productive society, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani enacted a law in October amending provisions of the Civil Human Resources Law. This amendment includes incentives and benefits aimed at balancing work and family life, enhancing both psychological and professional stability for employees. These efforts contribute to establishing a flexible and productive work environment, reinforcing Qatar's position as a model of administrative modernization and sustainable development.

According to Qatar News Agency, to attract national talent across sectors, an Amiri decree was issued in September establishing the Qatar Award for Localization in the Private Sector. This award promotes positive competition among private sector entities by honoring those that meet localization targets and contribute to the Qatar National Vision 2030. It also recognizes distinguished citizens and exceptional talents within the private sector.

Qatar places a strong emphasis on education as the foundation of national progress. This year saw new graduates from Qatar University and universities within Education City. In September, top high school students were honored by His Highness at the Amiri Diwan. HH the Amir also patronized the 18th Education Excellence Day Award in February, recognizing 80 winners and reinforcing education's role in building future generations.

The start of the academic year on August 31st welcomed thousands of students back to school. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education highlighted that this launch aligns with its strategy to build an integrated educational system. This system aims to enhance education quality and community partnership, contributing to Qatar National Vision 2030 by fostering learners capable of leading sustainable development.

In healthcare, Qatar aims to provide top-tier healthcare and preventive services. The National Health Strategy (2024-2030) prioritizes population health and well-being, service delivery excellence, and health system efficiency. Qatar ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa, and 18th globally, in the 2025 Healthcare Index, reflecting the evolving quality and accessibility of its healthcare sector.

On the food security front, Qatar continues efforts to ensure sustainable food security and reduce reliance on imports. The National Conference on Food Safety in September emphasized building a safe food system through legislation and innovation. The Food Security Department outlined the National Food Security Strategy 2030, which includes 17 initiatives to boost local production and diversify investments.
