Qatar’s Commitment to Palestinian Support Highlighted at Extraordinary Arab Summit

Cairo: Qatari newspapers extensively covered the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, who is set to chair the State of Qatar's delegation at the extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo. This summit emphasizes Qatar's ongoing dedication to supporting the Palestinian people on humanitarian, political, and diplomatic fronts.

According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers highlighted Qatar's staunch rejection of attempts to displace Palestinians from their lands. This was reiterated in a statement during discussions on the report of the High Commissioner for Human Rights concerning occupied Palestinian territories. Qatar has submitted a memorandum to the International Court of Justice, emphasizing the legal obligations of the Israeli occupation towards the presence of UN and international organizations in these territories. Additionally, Qatar stresses the importance of humanitarian aid and supporting agencies like UNRWA.

Al-Arab newspaper noted Qatar's role in historic mediation efforts alongside Egypt and the United States, which facilitated the ceasefire in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners and detainees earlier this year. Meanwhile, Al-Sharq newspaper emphasized HH the Amir's consistent support for the Palestinian cause across various platforms, including international summits, confirming Qatar's unwavering stance on the establishment of a Palestinian state.

His Highness' participation at the summit further consolidates Qatar's commitment to safeguarding Palestinian rights and rejecting any solutions that perpetuate occupation. The newspapers reported that Qatar remains at the forefront of efforts to oppose ethnic cleansing practices by the Israeli occupation, underlining its dedication to the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Gaza Strip residents.

Qatari editorials concluded that the nation's solidarity with the Palestinian people is unwavering, prioritizing justice and the acknowledgment of their right to a dignified life.
