Cairo: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has reiterated his rejection of the occupation's practices aimed at imposing a colonial reality in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, with the goal of undermining the two-state solution and liquidating the Palestinian cause.
According to Qatar News Agency, in his speech at the extraordinary Arab summit held Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt, Abbas highlighted the Egyptian-Palestinian-Arab plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, ensuring that Palestinians remain on their homeland without displacement. He emphasized the importance of doubling efforts to strengthen Palestinian national unity.
The extraordinary Arab summit is held amid serious challenges that threaten the Palestinian cause, foremost among them the calls for the displacement of its people from their homeland, which is categorically rejected, as well as the occupation's practices aimed at imposing a colonial reality in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, to undermine the two-state solution and liquidate the Palestinian cause, Abbas said in his speech.
He stressed the necessity of a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and proposed a long-term truce in the West Bank and Gaza, along with halting unilateral Israeli actions in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, to achieve security and peace in the entire region.
