Tunis: The Qatari athletics team raised their medal tally to 9: 4 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals at the 11th Arab Junior Championships, which concluded Thursday in Tunisia with the participation of 15 countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, the gold medals were secured by Saleh Mahmoud in the shot put, Younis Al Balushi in the pole vault, Mubarak Saeed in the 1,500m, and Abdul Razzaq Idris in the 400m hurdles. The team showcased their prowess across various events, earning silver and bronze medals as well.
The silver accolades were achieved by Timo Juma in the 100m and Abdullah Al Abdullah in the pole vault. The bronze medals were captured by Hussein Mohammed in the 110m hurdles, Saleh Mahmoud in the discus throw, and Timo Juma in the 200m, further highlighting the team's versatile talent.
The Qatari team competed with a roster of distinguished athletes in track and field events. Participants included Samer Hussein in the 1500m, Timo Juma in the 100m and 200m races, Idris Abkar and Hussein Mohammed in the 110m hurdles, Abdul Razzaq Idris and Abkar Idris in the 400m hurdles, Mubarak Saeed in the 1500m, Abdullah Al Abdullah and Younis Al Balushi in the pole vault, and Saleh Mahmoud in the shot put and discus throw.
