Qatari Newspapers Criticize Israeli Actions Against Diplomats and Urge International Intervention

Doha: In a recent editorial, Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq condemned the Israeli occupation forces for targeting foreign diplomatic delegations, describing it as an escalatory move aimed at concealing the reality of the situation and preventing the international community from witnessing the extent of crimes committed against the Palestinian people. The newspaper highlighted condemnations from Italy, Spain, Belgium, and the European Union after Israeli soldiers fired warning shots towards diplomats visiting the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq expressed that Israel's actions to intimidate diplomats, coupled with ongoing war crimes in Gaza, represent a significant escalation. The newspaper stressed that targeting international observers and diplomats reflects a clear intent by Israel to suppress the truth on the ground and hinder efforts to achieve justice or accountability for violations. Al-Sharq concluded that these actions should not be dismissed as mere military errors but rather classified as organized crimes against humanity. It called for decisive international action to stop the aggression in Gaza and pursue a comprehensive and lasting peaceful solution that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, protects civilians, and holds violators accountable before fair international courts.

In parallel, The Peninsula reported on the dire situation in the Gaza Strip, describing it as being at a critical juncture after more than a year and a half of offensive and siege by the Israeli military. The renewed military offensive by Israel, along with a blockade of all aid, has increased the suffering for Gaza's population. The State of Qatar has been working from the beginning to find a solution to protect civilians through humanitarian aid, release all hostages and detainees, and end the conflict, the paper stated.

Qatar's efforts, in collaboration with Egypt and the US, have resulted in periods of ceasefire, the release of hundreds of hostages and detainees, and the delivery of aid, the report added. The Peninsula concluded that Qatar remains committed to its diplomatic efforts, grounded in its belief that peaceful negotiations are the best way to resolve conflict and affirm the Palestinian people's inalienable right to live in peace in their own independent state.
