Manama: The Qatari men's volleyball team has secured their place in the semi-finals of the West Asian Championship, currently taking place in the Bahraini capital, Manama. They achieved this milestone with a decisive victory over the Lebanese team on Wednesday evening, winning in three straight sets (25-17, 25-15, 25-13).

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari team delivered an outstanding performance throughout the match, demonstrating dominance and control. This victory continues their winning streak in the tournament, bolstering their ambition to advance steadily to the knockout rounds and pursue the title in the first edition of this regional championship.

The Qatari team reached the quarter-finals after topping Group B with three consecutive wins in the group stage. Their campaign began with a 3-0 win over Saudi Arabia, followed by a 3-1 victory over Oman, and concluded with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Kuwait in a highly competitive match.

Thanks to their consistent performance, the Qatari team secured the top spot in their group with 8 points, establishing themselves as strong contenders for the championship title. Their success is attributed to the technical cohesion and collective skill displayed throughout the tournament.

In other quarterfinal matches, Saudi Arabia secured their semi-final spot by defeating Jordan 3-0, while Oman qualified for the semi-finals after overcoming the UAE with a 3-0 victory. The match between Bahrain and Kuwait is still underway in the same round.

This inaugural edition of the West Asian Volleyball Championship aims to promote sporting competition among national teams in the region and enhance the technical level of the game. The tournament is organized under the supervision of the West Asian Volleyball Federation, led by Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari.
