Doha: Al Rayyan defeated Al Duhail 1-0 in their match today at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, as part of the third round of the Qatar Stars League (Doha Bank Stars League). Brazilian forward Roger Guedes scored the only goal of the match in the 61st minute, putting Al Rayyan back on the winning track after their 2-4 loss to Al Shamal in the previous round. The win raised their tally to six points, moving them into fourth place.

According to Qatar News Agency, last season's runner-up Al Duhail suffered a second consecutive defeat after losing 0-1 to Al Wakrah, leaving them stuck on just one point in ninth place.
