Qatari Leaders Extend Condolences to Saudi Arabia Following Royal Passing

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, along with other high-ranking Qatari officials, has sent cables of condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, upon the passing of HH Prince Abdullah bin Musaed Al Abdulrahman Al Saud. Joining him in offering their sympathies were HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, each extending their heartfelt messages to the Saudi royal family during this period of mourning.

According to Qatar News Agency, other significant governmental activities took place, including HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chairing the regular Cabinet meeting at the Amiri Diwan. Additionally, HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari engaged in multiple high-profile meetings in Kuwait City, where he participated in the joint annual meetings of Arab financial institutions and met with his Arab counterparts.

In education, HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater embarked on an official visit to Lebanon, leading a high-level educational delegation. Moreover, the State of Qatar strengthened its international parliamentary presence as HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti was elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Further diplomatic engagements included HE Permanent Representative of Qatar in Geneva Dr. Hend bint Abdulrahman Al Muftah participating in a panel discussion on humanitarian contributions to peace, and HE Permanent Representative to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani meeting with UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen.

Qatar's financial sector also saw significant exchanges, with HE Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani meeting with Liberty Capital's founder, Steven Mnuchin. Additionally, HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed attended the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Forum in Berlin, connecting with major German companies.

In a series of diplomatic meetings, HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti conversed with HE Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia Nelly Butete, HE Iranian Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Hamid Reza Haji Babaei, and HE Member of the Federal Parliament of Somalia Ismail Mohamed, further strengthening Qatar's international relations.
