Amman: The director of the Amman International Book Fair, Jabr Abu Fares, has praised the active participation of Qatar in the 24th edition of the fair, which is set to run from September 25 to October 4, 2025. Qatar's Ministry of Culture will have an expanded pavilion complemented by several Qatari publishing houses.
According to Qatar News Agency, Abu Fares confirmed the Ministry of Culture's request to enlarge its pavilion to 36 square meters, highlighting Qatar's ongoing commitment to cultural events in the region. The participation aims to enrich the Jordanian and Arab cultural scene and strengthen cultural ties between the countries.
Abu Fares appreciates Qatar's involvement, noting that Qatari writers and creatives will also attend and contribute to various cultural events at the fair. He mentioned Jordan's participation in the Doha International Book Fair, emphasizing the mutual cultural exchange and cooperation between the two nations.
The 24th edition of the book fair will feature a significant increase in participants and a wider range of cultural content. Around 400 publishing houses, including newcomers, will participate. The event will include contributions from Arab countries such as Qatar, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, as well as international participants from China, Turkey, Canada, and the UK.
Abu Fares expects the public turnout to surpass last year's half a million visitors. He stressed the objective of promoting reading culture and ensuring affordable book prices through mandatory discounts.
The Amman International Book Fair aims to be a comprehensive cultural platform, fostering dialogue and openness among Arab readers and cultures.
