Qatar Sweeps Gold and Silver in Boys’ Doubles at Asian Youth Bowling Championship

Doha: The Qatari youth bowling team achieved a remarkable feat on Tuesday by securing both gold and silver medals in the boys' doubles event at the 24th Asian Youth Bowling Championship. The championship is being held at the Qatar Bowling Center and will continue until August 2.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari duo of Talal Al Marri and Musaad Al Muraikhi clinched the gold medal with an impressive total of 2,690 points. Close on their heels, the pair of Hassan Al Muraikhi and Abdulrahman Al Dosari captured the silver medal, finishing with 2,669 points. The top three winners were crowned by Bandar Mubarak Al Shafi, the Secretary General of the Qatar Bowling Federation and a member of the Asian Bowling Federation.

Saeed Al Hajri, a Board Member of the Qatar Bowling Federation, awarded medals to the top three female pairs. The championship is set to continue with team events on Wednesday, featuring four-player squads in both the boys' and girls' categories.

The Secretary General expressed his delight at Qatar's success, stating to Qatar News Agency that they are immensely proud of the athletes for securing both gold and silver in the boys' doubles despite strong competition. He attributed the success to extensive preparations, expressing hope for continued achievements in the tournament, which reflect the team's exceptional capabilities and ambition for more medals.

Talal Al Marri, one of the gold medalists, shared his joy at winning alongside Musaad Al Muraikhi. He noted the tough competition from the outset and acknowledged that while the team faced challenges in the individual events, they learned from their mistakes and excelled in the doubles.

Musaad Al Muraikhi echoed his partner's sentiments, describing the gold medal as a personal milestone. He expressed pride in securing his first gold in the Asian championships and emphasized the motivation from hosting the event in Qatar. He highlighted the tremendous support they received and the momentum gained from their success in the doubles, which fuels their ambition for further achievements in the championship.
