Doha: The State of Qatar expressed today its strong condemnation and denunciation of an attack that targeted the UAE's Consulate General in Iraqi Kurdistan, deeming it a rejected act and a clear violation of all international norms and conventions that protect diplomatic missions and their headquarters.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed, in a statement today, that the targeting of diplomatic missions and headquarters was a clear violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and was a dangerous escalation that threatens the safety and security of diplomatic staff, and undermines internationally-recognized rules for diplomatic work.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed the State of Qatar's unwavering rejection of all violence and terrorist acts that target diplomatic missions or undermine security and stability, affirming its solidarity with and support for the United Arab Emirates in all measures it would take to enhance security and stability in the sisterly Republic of Iraq and the region.
