Qatar Stock Exchange Index Opens Lower as Sectors Show Decline

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index experienced a decrease of 0.21% at the start of Sunday trading, shedding 23.98 points to settle at 11,624 compared to the previous session's close. This decline was attributed to losses spread across most sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the dip was primarily driven by negative performances in several sectors. The Telecoms sector saw the largest decrease at 0.60%, followed by Transportation with a 0.36% drop. The Real Estate sector declined by 0.18%, Consumer Goods and Services fell by 0.12%, while Banks and Financial Services and Industrials recorded decreases of 0.09% and 0.04% respectively. The Insurance sector remained unchanged during this period.

As of 10:00 am, the trading activity on the Qatar Stock Exchange included 1,209 transactions amounting to QR 25.268 million. The trading volume reached 11.396 million shares, reflecting the cautious sentiment among investors.
