Qatar Stars League Engages in Global Football Development Discussions at World Leagues Association Meeting

Athens: The Qatar Stars League Foundation (QSL) participated in the Annual Meetings and General Assembly of the World Leagues Association, held in Athens, Greece, for three days. The conference saw the attendance of representatives from professional leagues across various continents, alongside a delegation from FIFA and several international sports figures.

According to Qatar News Agency, QSL's CEO, Hani Taleb Ballan, and Executive Director of Competitions and Football Development, Dr. Ahmed Khalil Abbasi, engaged in numerous meetings and discussions with officials and representatives from participating international leagues. These interactions aimed to facilitate the exchange of experiences and insights into the latest programs concerning competitions and football development.

During the event, QSL showcased its strategic initiatives for developing the league, with a focus on promoting sustainability and professionalism. This presentation was part of a session that explored the future of Asian championships and fostered collaboration between leagues.

Key topics addressed during the meetings included the global transfer system, multi-ownership clubs, the tournament calendar, and the advancement of women's football. An IFAB workshop provided insights into the latest video assistant referee (VAR) technology, and several related legal issues were also deliberated.

QSL's regular participation in these meetings underscores its dedication to nurturing relationships with professional leagues worldwide, sharing expertise, and remaining informed about the latest advancements in football.
