Abu dhabi: The Qatar Scouts and Guides Association has concluded its participation in the 31st Arab Scout Conference, held in Abu Dhabi with the involvement of 17 Arab scout associations. The conference focused on voting on proposed constitutional amendments, including the constitution of the Arab Scout Region, the constitution of the Arab Scout Organization, and the organization's internal regulations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by HE Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association. Commissioner General of the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association Ghanem bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari stated that the conference's preliminary session featured a presentation of the rules of procedure and an explanation of the voting system, followed by the election of the conference committee.
The final day's events included the announcement of the distribution of positions within the Arab Scout Committee. The vote resulted in the election of Saeed Maaliki as Chairman of the Arab Scout Committee until the 31st Arab Scout Conference in 2025, with Mohammed Ali Al Khiyari elected as Vice-Chairman for the same term. The conference also involved voting on the hosting of future events by Arab Scout associations.
The Jordanian Scouts and Guides Association was selected to host the 32nd Arab Scout Conference and the 7th Arab Scout Youth Forum, both scheduled for 2028. The Scouts and Guides of Libya were chosen to host the 6th Arab Scout Educational Forum and the 19th International Commissioners Meeting. Additionally, the General Union of Scouts and Guides of Egypt will host the 23rd Arab Rover Gathering.
The vote also determined that the Directorate General of Scouts and Guides of the Sultanate of Oman will host the 34th Arab Scout Camp, while the Algerian Islamic Scouts will host the meeting of heads of Arab Scout associations.
