Qatar Partakes in Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in Turkmenistan

Awaza: The State of Qatar is participating in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held in Awaza, Turkmenistan, from August 5 to 8. Heading Qatar's delegation is HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, alongside representatives from various national authorities.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar's involvement in this conference underscores its commitment to supporting international efforts focused on sustainable development. The nation aims to aid landlocked developing countries, which face specific challenges due to their geographical positions, especially in transportation, logistics, and regional integration.

The conference's objective is to evaluate the progress of the Awaza Program of Action (2024-2034). This initiative acts as a roadmap to enhance these countries' integration into the global economy through infrastructure development, trade facilitation, investment stimulation, and strengthening institutional and digital capabilities.

During the event, Qatar plans to highlight its efforts and initiatives supporting these nations, notably through the Qatar Fund for Development. Furthermore, Qatar's contribution to the Doha Program of Action (2022-2031) aims to benefit the least developed countries globally.
