Doha: The Qatari men's beach volleyball team, composed of Cherif Younoue and Ahmed Tijan, has climbed to fourth place globally in the latest ranking issued by the International Volleyball Federation, improving from its previous fifth-place position. The Qatari team secured fourth place with a total of 5,580 points, following participation in 10 tournaments this season, most notably their recent gold medal victory at the prestigious Elite16 Gstaad tournament held in Switzerland, which contributed 1,200 points to their tally.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari duo continues to deliver strong performances this season, aiming to remain among the world's elite teams and preparing for major upcoming competitions, including the World Championship and the Olympic Games. Norwegian pair Anders Berntsen Mol and Christian Sorum retained the top spot in the world rankings with 7,680 points. The Argentine duo Nicolas Capogroo and Tom¡s Capogroo ranked second with 6,520 points, while Sweden's David Ahman and Jonathan Hellvig took third place with 5,780 points.
This ranking reflects the significant development of beach volleyball in Qatar and its growing ability to compete at the highest international level.
