Doha: The third Qatar-Japan Strategic Dialogue, held in Doha, underscored the commitment of both nations to deepen their partnership across various fields.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Watan newspaper reported in its editorial that the meeting, attended by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and HE Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Toshimitsu Motegi, marked a significant milestone in the strengthening ties between Qatar and Japan. The dialogue is rooted in mutual respect, trust, and shared interests, aiming to foster cooperation in multiple domains such as global and regional stability, defense, energy, economic and technological collaboration, cultural and educational exchange, and maritime security.

Al-Watan highlighted that during the dialogue, both countries reiterated their commitment to defense and security cooperation, with a focus on maritime security and freedom of navigation. The discussions also included exchanging views on regional developments in the Middle East, Israel-Palestine, Iran, Syria, and East Asian affairs, emphasizing the importance of diplomacy and multilateral engagement to promote peace and stability.

Additionally, The Peninsula newspaper emphasized the strategic nature of the Qatar-Japan partnership, highlighting Japan's recognition of Qatar's growing role as an international mediator. The longstanding energy cooperation continues to be a pillar of their relationship, offering a model of how strategic dialogue based on trust can provide lasting benefits for both countries and the global community.
