Doha: The Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group commenced on Sunday in Doha. This two-day event is being hosted by the State of Qatar.
According to Qatar News Agency, the preparatory meeting for senior staff was led by Mohammed Ahmed Al Hammadi, Assistant Director of the International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, Al Hammadi emphasized the significance of collective efforts to support Somalia in tackling its challenges. He underscored the importance of working on solutions through a collaborative process in Somalia, in coordination with partners and stakeholders.
Al Hammadi reiterated Qatar's commitment to sustainable solutions and the completion of development projects as a means to break the dependency on foreign aid. He expressed that creating a robust infrastructure will empower the Somali government to meet the aspirations of its people for development, progress, and prosperity.
