Riyadh: The State of Qatar participated in the annual meeting of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Justice of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states for the year 2025, held at the headquarters of the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Qatari delegation was led by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice Saeed bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting addressed several topics aimed at enhancing joint Gulf legal cooperation. Key discussions included draft unified rules for combating discrimination and hate speech, as well as measures to combat trafficking in persons within the GCC states.
Further discussions focused on preparing a policy for cooperation between the GCC Ministries of Justice, as part of the provisions of the Sultanate of Oman's initiative to enhance judicial integration among the GCC states. The meeting also reviewed the recommendations of the Committee of Directors and Heads of Legal and Judicial Training Centers and Institutes in the GCC states, and appropriate decisions were made regarding these recommendations.
