Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani engaged in diplomatic discussions with key international leaders, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing regional issues. Discussions were held with HE President of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed Al Sharaa to explore ways to enhance cooperation between Qatar and Syria. Additionally, the Amir discussed regional and international developments with HE Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, emphasizing de-escalation and dialogue to support regional stability.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Amir also received a written message from HE President of Guinea Mamady Doumbouya, discussing the enhancement of bilateral relations. The Amir congratulated President Doumbouya on his election victory and extended condolences to King Salman of Saudi Arabia on the passing of HRH Princess Hind bint Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Qatar's participation in international initiatives was evident as the country expressed hope that the ceasefire agreement in Gaza would stabilize the situation and address humanitarian conditions. Qatar also condemned an attack targeting a police vehicle in northwestern Pakistan and participated in meetings to enhance coordination of peace initiatives in Sudan, as well as youth and sports cooperation in the Arab world.
Further engagement included a ministerial roundtable on the minerals sector in Riyadh and meetings with visiting officials, such as the Norwegian Special Envoy to Yemen and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Australia. The Ministry of Interior emphasized precautionary measures for public safety amid regional developments, while the Ministry of Justice introduced new regulations for the Preliminary Real Estate Register.
