Qatar Engages in Diplomatic and Financial Activities Amidst Global Forums

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani actively engaged in diplomatic communications, exchanging cables of greetings with leaders of friendly Arab and Muslim countries on the occasion of the new Hijri Year. Additionally, HH the Amir received phone calls from HE President of Iraq Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid and HE President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani also participated in the exchange of greetings with Crown Princes and Deputy Heads of friendly Arab and Muslim countries for the same occasion. Concurrently, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani exchanged greetings with heads of governments in friendly Arab and Islamic nations.

In further diplomatic engagements, HE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received calls from HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Constantinos Kombos and HE Minister of External Affairs of India Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. The calls highlighted the ongoing diplomatic ties and cooperation between Qatar and these nations.

On the financial front, HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari met with HE President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liquin during the bank's annual meeting in Beijing. Qatar's participation in the AIIB's official meetings underscores its commitment to global economic collaboration and investment.

Qatar's involvement in international forums extended to the Global Humanitarian Forum in London, organized with the participation of the Doha Forum, and the International Network for Legislation on Drugs (INLOD) meeting in Vienna, showing Qatar's active role in global humanitarian and legislative discussions.

The National Service Academy celebrated the graduation of its 22nd batch of recruits under the auspices of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, signifying Qatar's continued focus on national security and defense training.

Additionally, the General Directorate of Coasts and Border Security concluded a job-shadowing program with the German Federal Police and a training course on combating illegal immigration with officers from Djibouti, reinforcing Qatar's commitment to international security cooperation.

Qatar's engagement in the Annual Meeting of the AIIB in Beijing, and its upcoming role as host for the 11th Annual Meeting in 2026, further highlight its strategic involvement in international financial and infrastructural development.
