Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held on Wednesday morning at the Amiri Diwan. At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency commended the outcomes of the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2) held in Doha from November 4-6, chaired by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet affirmed that the summit, with its extensive and high-level participation, enriched discussions, diverse activities, and practical solutions, has become a pivotal moment in the trajectory of global social development. The Doha Political Declaration, which was a result of the summit, has laid strong foundations for comprehensive and sustainable social progress worldwide. The Cabinet expressed gratitude to all relevant ministries and state agencies whose efforts significantly contributed to the successful organization of the conference.
Following this, the Cabinet addressed the items on its agenda, notably approving a draft law for a unified system for international land transport among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This development aims to streamline and enhance connectivity and transportation efficiency between the member states.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved several draft memorandums of understanding (MoUs), including one between the Qatar Fund for Development and the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development for the year 2025. Another MoU was approved for cooperation between Qatar Central Bank and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan. Furthermore, a draft letter of intent for collaboration in the health field between Qatar and Finland was also endorsed.
The meeting concluded with the Cabinet reviewing two reports and taking appropriate actions. The reports included an analysis of the visit by HE Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs to Algeria in September 2025, and insights from participation in the 11th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Social Affairs and Development of the GCC countries held in Kuwait in September 2025.
