Prime Minister of Qatar Discusses Regional Tensions with Austrian Chancellor

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani has received a phone call from HE Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Christian Stocker. During the call, the two leaders discussed the developments of military escalation in the region and its implications for regional and international security and stability, as well as possible peaceful resolutions to disputes.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Iranian attack on Qatari territory is a clear violation of the country's sovereignty and goes against principles of good neighborliness. He stressed that such actions are unacceptable. His Excellency pointed out that Qatar has always aimed to avoid regional conflicts and has facilitated dialogue between Iran and the international community. Despite this, he noted that the renewed targeting of Qatari territory undermines the mutual understandings that underpin bilateral relations.

He further emphasized the necessity for an immediate halt to any escalatory actions, urging a return to negotiations and the prioritization of rational and wise actions to contain the crisis and ensure regional security. Meanwhile, HE the Federal Chancellor of Austria voiced his concern regarding the regional developments, urging all parties to exercise restraint and seek diplomatic solutions to prevent further instability.
