Ramallah: Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh discussed with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi the latest political and humanitarian developments in the occupied Palestinian territory, as well as bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, the Palestinian Vice President emphasized the importance of fully implementing US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip. This plan aims to lead to the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces and initiate the reconstruction process in the region.
In addressing the situation in the West Bank, Al Sheikh highlighted the urgent need for an immediate halt to settlement activity. He also called for an end to settler terrorism and the release of withheld Palestinian funds. Al Sheikh warned that these ongoing policies pose significant risks to the Palestinian Authority, the two-state solution, and the prospects for peace and stability in the region.
