Palestinian Presidency Urges Global Intervention Against Israeli Settlement Expansion

Ramallah: The Palestinian Presidency on Monday called on the international community to take action to end the Israeli occupation and its illegal colonial settlements in Palestinian territories, in accordance with international law, relevant United Nations resolutions, and the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice.

According to Qatar News Agency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the Official Spokesperson for the Palestinian Presidency, stated in a press release that any annexation, like settlement activity, is illegitimate, condemned, and unacceptable. He warned that such practices close all doors to achieving security and stability in the region and the world.

The spokesperson emphasized that through these practices and others, the Israeli entity seeks to undermine efforts to halt aggression on the Gaza Strip and attacks in the West Bank, effectively eliminating any opportunity to achieve a two-state solution.

He urged the international community to take serious and practical steps to prevent the Israeli entity from carrying out its plans, to recognize the State of Palestine, and to implement UN resolutions supporting the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
