Jordanian Army Thwarts Major Drug-Smuggling Attempts Along Eastern Border

Amman: The Jordanian Armed Forces announced Monday the successful interception of two significant drug-smuggling operations along the country's eastern border, highlighting a coordinated security effort by units of the Eastern Military Zone.

According to Qatar News Agency, military sources revealed that the border guards detected aerial objects using basic navigation equipment, which were attempting to transport large quantities of narcotics. These devices were intercepted and brought down at two different locations, allowing the military to secure the illicit cargo within Jordanian territory.

The seized narcotics have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and legal action. The Jordanian Armed Forces emphasized their ongoing commitment to border security, vowing to enhance their monitoring capabilities and quick-response strategies in order to dismantle organized smuggling networks effectively.

Jordanian authorities frequently report the interception of drones and the prevention of smuggling attempts, particularly along the nation's northern and eastern borders.
