Palestinian PM Discusses Strengthening Gaza, West Bank Relief Efforts with UN Delegation

Palestine: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa met Wednesday with a delegation from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to discuss avenues for strengthening relief and humanitarian efforts marshalled in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and fashioning preparations for executing phase one of recovery and rebuilding.

According to Qatar News Agency, Mustafa stressed that the inherent challenges require concerted efforts and joint coordination between the Palestinian government, international community, and donors, as well as pressing ahead toward enforcing the UN Security Council resolutions pertaining to halting the war in the Gaza enclave, opening all crossings with the Strip, and initiating the implementation of the recovery and rebuilding plan.

The meeting further stressed the importance of supporting and rehabilitating the health sector, deploying mobile clinics in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as renewable energy sources, and delivering fuel.

This is alongside removing rubble and unexploded ordnance devices, and deploying reconstruction and caravan equipment.
