Yerevan: The fifth round of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Armenia took place in Yerevan, with both nations exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, while the Armenian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan. The discussions centered around strengthening bilateral ties and exploring collaborative opportunities in various sectors.
A significant outcome of the consultations was the announcement of a resident Armenian embassy opening in Muscat. Additionally, Omani Undersecretary Al Harthy disclosed a new visa policy, exempting Omani citizens from requiring tourist visas to enter Armenia. In reciprocity, Armenian citizens will also be exempt from entry visas to Oman.
The meeting also included an exchange of perspectives on several regional and international issues of mutual concern, reflecting a shared commitment to addressing global challenges collaboratively.
