Doha: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned Tuesday the "racist statements" by the extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, in which he confirmed that he had issued instructions to work on imposing sovereignty over the West Bank. OIC stressed, in a statement, that the existence of the Israeli occupation and its policies based on aggression, settlement, displacement, annexation, destruction and ethnic cleansing are all illegal and void under international law, warning of the danger of the ongoing incitement and organized terrorism practiced by the occupation leaders and extremist settlers against the Palestinian people, their land and their holy sites. According to Qatar News Agency, OIC called on the international community to recognize the State of Palestine, support its full membership in the United Nations, and take the necessary measures to end the illegal occupation and settlement of the occupied Palestinian territory in implementation of the two-state solution, ba sed on international law and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the illegality of the occupation, and the General Assembly resolution in this regard.
