Doha: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have affirmed that the extremist statements by the Israeli Finance Minister represent a flagrant violation of international laws and treaties and all relevant Security Council resolutions. According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement Tuesday, GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al Bedawi stressed the GCC countries' rejection of such provocative statements and policies that confirm the policy pursued by the Israeli occupation government aimed at undermining the chances of peace, prolonging the conflict in the region and inflaming it. The GCC Secretary-General stressed, at the same time, that the GCC countries stand united with the brotherly Palestinian people to protect their inalienable rights, foremost of which is their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of Jun. 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
