Cairo: Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha stressed the OIC's rejection and condemnation of statements and plans calling for the displacement of Palestinians from their land.
According to Qatar News Agency, in his speech during the opening of the Extraordinary Arab Summit hosted by Egypt at the request of the State of Palestine and dedicated to discussing developments in the Palestinian cause and ways to support the Palestinian people, he noted the importance of enhancing efforts to take concrete measures to provide support to the Palestinian people, a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza, providing humanitarian aid to all its areas, and starting the reconstruction process.
He expressed his condemnation of targeting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and all statements and plans that aim to displace Palestinians from their land, which constitutes a clear violation of international law and international norms, calling for mobilizing financial and political support for the UN agency.
Concluding his statement, Hissein Brahim Taha emphasized the need to expand recognition of the State of Palestine, support its full accession to the United Nations, and support the efforts of the international coalition to implement the two-state solution.
