Jeddah: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has praised the decision to include Israeli occupation authorities and institutions in the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General's annual report concerning conflict-related violations of bodily integrity.
According to Qatar News Agency, the OIC regards this move as a significant legal and humanitarian achievement for Palestinian victims. It is seen as a vital step in advancing justice and accountability, aiming to put an end to the enduring situation of impunity.
The OIC emphasized that the report serves as a crucial international legal and political document. It condemns the systematic crimes and violations perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian detainees and civilians, necessitating legal action. The report also addresses war crimes and acts of genocide carried out by Israeli forces throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
The General Secretariat reiterated its call for the international community to take decisive measures to halt all ongoing crimes and violations by the Israeli occupation. It urged for accountability under international criminal law and advocated for global efforts to provide protection to the Palestinian people.
