Pyongyang:Seoul North Korea fired several ballistic missiles towards the East Sea on Monday, as reported by South Korea's military. The projectiles were launched from the Pyongyang area, with one missile traveling a distance of more than 900 kilometers.
According to Qatar News Agency, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff detected the launches at approximately 920 am local time. The South Korean military is maintaining increased surveillance in coordination with the United States and Japan in response to the missile launches.
This incident follows a similar launch less than two weeks ago when North Korea fired a ballistic missile from the Wonsan area towards the East Sea on October 3. The following day, North Korean state media reported that leader Kim Jong Un had overseen the launch of an intermediate-range missile as part of training for missile troops operating the nation's "hypersonic strategic weapon system."
