Doha: The Ministry of Municipality's Public Parks Department, in cooperation with Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation, has launched the 11th edition of the "Farm Your Country" program. This initiative sees the participation of 47 schools across various educational levels, including one dedicated to persons with disabilities.
According to Qatar News Agency, the program is part of national efforts to enhance the partnership between the public and private sectors. This collaboration aims to raise agricultural awareness and instill a culture of planting in students from an early age, thereby promoting a green and sustainable environment in Qatar.
In a statement, the Public Parks Department revealed that planting operations have been completed in 25 schools. The coming weeks will witness similar activities in the remaining schools, followed by stages of checkups and plant care until the harvest season, all under the supervision of the department's technical team.
The Ministry's Public Parks Department emphasized that this program is one of its most important community initiatives, implemented in partnership with Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation. Its significance lies in fostering a sense of responsibility among students, respect for the environment, and teamwork. Additionally, it encourages home farming and contributes to enhancing food security in the country.
