Ministry of Labour Launches Training Program for Aspiring Accountants in Private Sector

Doha: In collaboration with the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants (QCPA), the Ministry of Labour, through the Department of Qualifying and Skills Development, organized Wednesday a specialized training program.

According to Qatar News Agency, the program is designed for Qatari graduates and children of Qatari women who are pursuing opportunities in the private sector. It focuses on tax law and its executive regulations, aiming to equip participants with crucial knowledge of tax legislation, accounting practices, and regulatory compliance to prepare them for the labour market.

This initiative is part of the ministry's strategic efforts to advance the National Strategy for an Effective and Highly Productive Workforce and adhere to the Law on Nationalization of Jobs in the Private Sector. By honing the skills of the national workforce, the program aims to increase the presence of skilled Qataris and children of Qatari women in the private sector.

The training includes expert-led lectures on tax law and its executive regulations, providing participants with deep insights into accounting roles, tax procedures, and transparency measures in business settings. It also delves into compliance requirements for companies in the private sector.

Participants engage in hands-on training in tax reporting and calculation, explore case-based approaches to tax issues, and learn about modern tax systems and accounting technologies. Workshops further enhance their ability to effectively use tax-related tools and software.

This initiative aligns with the Ministry's broader commitment to cultivating a skilled national workforce across key economic sectors, boosting productivity, and enhancing competitiveness in the private sector, in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030's Human Development Pillar.
