Doha: HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud inaugurated the 6th International Primary Health Care Conference (IPHCC) on Thursday. The event, organized by the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), spans three days and hosts around one thousand experts, doctors, and specialists from several countries. It stands as a key scientific gathering in the region, offering a platform for the exchange of experiences and knowledge.
According to Qatar News Agency, the conference will present a variety of advanced topics in primary healthcare through panel discussions and workshops led by international speakers and experts. It also provides researchers the chance to present their studies and findings, which could enhance primary healthcare services in Qatar and globally.
On the conference sidelines, a specialized exhibition will display the latest medical innovations and health technologies from local and international institutions. This event targets healthcare professionals, medical students, and those seeking to develop their scientific and practical skills.
Managing Director of the PHCC, Dr. Mariam Abdul Malik, in her opening remarks, highlighted that the theme "Inspiring Tomorrow: The Power of Collaboration in Primary Health Care" reflects Qatar's commitment to health sector development. She noted that primary healthcare in Qatar has achieved a high standard regionally and internationally, attributed to strategic investments in health and the development of an integrated system offering preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services.
Dr. Malik mentioned that healthcare service achievements are evident in the satisfaction of community members and health center visitors, with surveys showing an 80 percent satisfaction rate. She emphasized that the conference is more than a scientific event; it is a platform that encourages creativity, knowledge sharing, and the development of innovative solutions for a robust health system.
She acknowledged the state's continuous efforts to promote human health, making Qatar's primary healthcare a model globally. The conference supports the National Health Strategy 2024-2030, focusing on prevention, mental health, patient experience, and sustainable services.
Dr. Malik also highlighted the conference's role as a scientific forum discussing emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, innovation in medical education, and digital solutions for patient experience improvement.
