Doha: HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah met Thursday with a group of school students participating in the Sustainability Ambassadors team as part of efforts to support student-led initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental awareness among youth.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, the students presented HE the Minister with a book documenting the host of innovative environmental initiatives and projects implemented within schools. These projects reflect the students' commitment to sustainability values and their dedication to promoting environmental awareness in their academic and community surroundings.

The student team also introduced a new initiative, which aims to reduce beach pollution and raise public awareness about the importance of cleanliness and coastal conservation. The initiative involves organizing volunteer awareness campaigns and interactive workshops in collaboration with relevant organizations.

HE the Minister of Municipality expressed his great appreciation for these promising youth initiatives, commending the students for their contributions in supporting sustainable development goals, emphasizing the importance of instilling environmental sustainability concepts in young generations from an early age and the crucial role of educational institutions in encouraging positive environmental behaviors.
