Malaysia, US Discuss Ways to Enhance Defense Cooperation

Putrajaya: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim discussed Tuesday a host of regional issues of mutual interest with Commander of US Indo-Pacific Command Admiral Samuel Paparo. During a meeting in Malaysia's new administrative capital, Putrajaya, the two sides explored ways to enhance defense cooperation and security diplomacy in the ASEAN region.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions underscored the importance of strengthening military ties and collaborative efforts in addressing security challenges in Southeast Asia. Both parties emphasized the need for a coordinated approach to ensure stability and peace in the region. The meeting highlighted the strategic significance of the ASEAN region and the mutual benefits of increased defense collaboration between Malaysia and the United States.
