Doha: Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun demanded the withdrawal of Israeli forces from five hills in the south to enable the Lebanese Army to complete its deployment up to the internationally recognized borders.
According to Qatar News Agency, during his meeting on Monday with the Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) General Diodato Abagnara, President Aoun emphasized the importance of UNIFIL's continued cooperation with the Lebanese Army to ensure full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
The ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Israeli entity, which came into effect on November 27, stipulated that Israeli forces withdraw from the southern Lebanese border villages and towns within 60 days. However, the Israeli forces have remained stationed at five points and continue to carry out violations.
