Doha: Lebanese army units continue to deploy in the South Litani area, southern Lebanon in coordination with the quintet committee supervising the ceasefire agreement, amid continued violations by the Israeli occupation army, including shooting at the army and citizens during the deployment.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Lebanese army said in a statement Wednesday that it is following up on citizens in the border towns, and continues to work on implementing Resolution 1701 and implementing the necessary field procedures in several locations in the South Litani area.
The army command called on citizens to adhere to the directives issued in its official statements, and to abide by the instructions of the deployed military units.
The 60-day deadline for the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the border villages and towns in southern Lebanon ended last Sunday, within the framework of the ceasefire agreement reached on November 27, but the White House recently announced the extension of this agreement until February 18.
