Kuwait: Kuwait's civil aviation authority announced that several drones targeted Kuwait International Airport on Thursday morning, resulting in material damage but no injuries.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation confirmed that the incident was managed in accordance with emergency procedures, in collaboration with relevant state agencies. Abdullah Al Rajhi, the authority's official spokesperson, stated in a report from the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the response adhered to the existing emergency plan established at the onset of the crisis.
He emphasized the authority's dedication to implementing all necessary measures to maintain the safety and security of civil aviation within the country. Concurrently, Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy reported that six overhead power transmission lines were disrupted in several locations due to debris falling during efforts to intercept the drones.
The ministry noted that this led to temporary fluctuations in the national electricity grid and resulted in limited power outages in certain areas. Power was subsequently restored to the affected regions.
