Kuwait and UK Discuss Deployment of British Air Defense Systems

Kuwait city: HH Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah held a phone call on Friday with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss arrangements for deploying British air defense systems in Kuwait. During the conversation, the leaders focused on enhancing military cooperation between the two nations to strengthen Kuwait's defense capabilities.

According to Qatar News Agency, Prime Minister Starmer reiterated the UK's condemnation of repeated Iranian attacks and affirmed his country's support and solidarity with Kuwait against any threats to its sovereignty and stability. The discussions underscored the UK's commitment to assist Kuwait in maintaining its security amidst regional tensions.

The British Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of safeguarding freedom of maritime navigation, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz. Starmer called for continuous coordination and joint efforts to find a lasting solution that ensures Kuwait's stability. This dialogue reflects the ongoing cooperation between Kuwait and the UK in addressing regional security challenges.
