Joint Statement Condemns Iranian Aggression at Riyadh Meeting

Riyadh: Their Highnesses and Excellencies, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs from Qatar, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkiye, and the UAE held a consultative ministerial meeting to address the Iranian attacks.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministers expressed strong condemnation of the Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks on member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jordan, Azerbaijan, and Turkiye. These attacks targeted residential areas and civilian infrastructure, including vital facilities such as oil installations, desalination plants, and diplomatic premises.

The delegates underscored that such actions by Iran are unjustifiable and reaffirmed the right of nations to self-defense as enshrined in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. They called for Iran to halt its attacks immediately and urged respect for international law and good neighborly relations as a step toward de-escalation and regional stability.

The ministers articulated that future relations with Iran hinge on its respect for state sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, and the cessation of military threats in the region. Compliance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026) and the cessation of support to militias in Arab states were emphasized as critical steps for Iran.

Furthermore, the meeting expressed support for Lebanon's security and sovereignty, and condemned Israeli aggression and expansionist policies in the region. The ministers reiterated their commitment to ongoing dialogue and coordination to monitor developments and formulate a unified response to protect their territories from Iranian aggression.
