Joao Felix Joins Saudi Al-Nassr in High-Profile Move from Chelsea

Doha: Joao Felix, the Portugal international forward, has officially joined the Saudi club Al-Nassr from Chelsea FC, set to begin his tenure ahead of the 2025-2026 season. The club announced that Felix will be part of their senior squad with a contract extending through 2027.

According to Qatar News Agency, the 25-year-old will reunite with Portuguese compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo and join an impressive lineup that includes Senegalese star Sadio Mane and Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic. These additions aim to strengthen Al-Nassr's competitive edge on the continental stage.

Felix has been capped 45 times for Portugal, scoring nine goals and contributing to the national team's UEFA Nations League triumphs in 2019 and 2025. His career began at Benfica, where he made a significant impact with 20 goals and 11 assists in 43 appearances. Moving to Atletico Madrid for the 2020 season, Felix appeared in 131 matches, scored 34 goals, and was instrumental in winning the 2021 La Liga title.

His journey included loan spells at Chelsea in 2023 and Barcelona in the following season, with Chelsea eventually securing him permanently in 2025. Despite high expectations, his performance in London was below par, leading to a loan to AC Milan during the last winter transfer window as he sought to revive his career.

Felix's move to Al-Nassr is anticipated to be a pivotal moment, potentially revitalizing his career and allowing him to demonstrate his abilities on a new stage.
