Rome: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has condemned the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the Israeli occupation forces are intentionally obstructing the entry of humanitarian aid into the embattled enclave.
According to Qatar News Agency, it is essential to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza and to uphold international humanitarian law, as the enclave is experiencing a tragic humanitarian situation that is worsening by the day. The situation is increasingly tragic and unjustifiable, Meloni said on Wednesday.
Since March 18, the Israeli occupation forces have resumed their aggression against the Gaza Strip following a two-month respite under a ceasefire deal that took effect on January 19.
However, the Israeli entity breached the terms of the deal over the two-month period and continued to bombard multiple sites across the enclave, resulting in casualties.
It also spurned the enforcement of the humanitarian protocol and instead tightened its blockade on the Strip, which is now experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy.
