Doha: The newspaper Al Raya described the Israeli attacks on Iran as a blatant violation of Iranian sovereignty and international law, warning of serious consequences that could drag the region into a devastating conflict.
According to Qatar News Agency, the paper stressed that these attacks destabilize the region, undermine prospects for peace, and endanger both regional and global security. In its editorial today, the paper said that Israel has no right to bomb sovereign nations, violate their territorial integrity, and expose their people and resources to destruction, death, and targeted aggression.
It noted that the extremist Israeli government is attempting to drag the region into a destructive war that it believes it can win, cautioning that this series of airstrikes on Iranian territory could spiral into dangerously unpredictable consequences. Al Raya added that every time the region nears de-escalation, Israel deliberately reignites violence through provocative and reckless actions aimed solely at maintaining a state of perpetual conflict, noting that the reason is that Israel alone benefits from keeping the region in turmoil.
The editorial referenced a call by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, urging the international community to intervene and halt these serious violations before it’s too late. Al Raya also reviewed Qatar diplomatic efforts to stop the Israeli attacks, noting that the Prime Minister held phone discussions with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, and Iran to discuss developments. During these calls, he reaffirmed Qatar strong condemnation of the Israeli assault on Iran, deeming it a blatant breach of Iran sovereignty and security, and a clear violation of international law and norms.
The editorial also highlighted His Excellency affirmation that the State of Qatar will work with its regional and international partners to urgently stop the aggression and spare the region its catastrophic consequences. He emphasized that constructive dialogue among all parties remains the only path to defusing crises and resolving disputes in order to achieve lasting peace and security in the region and the world.
The editorial concluded by reiterating Qatar strong condemnation and deep denunciation of the Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, considering it a flagrant violation of Iran sovereignty and security and a clear breach of international legal principles.
