Muscat: Iranian authorities announced the arrest of a European spy in the southwestern province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad. The individual, who holds European citizenship, was apprehended for allegedly attempting to gather intelligence on sensitive areas within the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Tasnim news agency reported that the European citizen had entered Iran under the guise of a tourist at the onset of Israeli hostilities against the nation. While the identity and arrest date of the individual remain undisclosed, the arrest operation was executed by the Intelligence Service of the Revolutionary Guards in the aforementioned province.
The report highlighted that this incident is part of a series of counterintelligence operations, as dozens of spies have been apprehended across Iran since the beginning of Israeli actions. Notably, more than 20 spies were detained just last Thursday, indicating ongoing efforts to safeguard national security.
