High School Graduates Key to Qatar’s National Vision, Say Qatari Newspapers

Doha: Qatari newspapers on Friday prominently featured editorials focusing on the announcement of the General Secondary Education Certificate results for the 2024-2025 academic year, which were released by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education on Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya, in its editorial titled "High School Graduates: Cornerstones of National Progress," emphasized that high school graduates are fundamental to Qatar's future. The editorial highlighted that these graduates are crucial for advancing the country across key sectors, particularly as Qatar aims to achieve its strategic objectives under Qatar National Vision 2030. This vision focuses on building a knowledge-based economy and fostering sustainable human development.

Al-Raya pointed out that the youth of Qatar, especially recent graduates, possess ambition, creativity, and a drive for innovation. These qualities, the paper argued, are essential for contributing effectively to the nation's economic, social, and cultural growth. The newspaper concluded by stressing the importance of investing in young people's potential and equipping them with modern tools, such as digital transformation and entrepreneurship, to position Qatar among the world's leading nations.

In another editorial titled "Secondary School Certificate: Excellence Rooted in Effort," Al-Sharq praised the strong performance of students in this year's General Secondary Education Certificate examinations. The paper noted a significant improvement over previous years, attributing this success to the efforts of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, educators, families, and the collaborative roles of all partners in the educational ecosystem.

Al-Sharq reiterated the Ministry's commitment to the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, focusing on cultivating a highly educated and ambitious generation capable of driving national development. The newspaper also highlighted a congratulatory message from HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, who commended both students and educators for their achievements. The Prime Minister described the graduates as the "arms of the future" upon whom the nation relies to realize its aspirations, marking their success as the beginning of a significant journey in service of Qatar and its future.
