Doha: HH Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development Sheikha Moza bint Nasser attended on Tuesday the 2025 Qatar Foundation Convocation ceremony, held at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC). More than 1,000 students who graduated from Qatar Foundation's higher education institutions were honored.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani also attended the ceremony, which marked a pivotal moment in the lives of the graduates and in the journey of Qatar Foundation. The event was also attended by several ministers, dignitaries, university deans and faculty members, as well as the families of this year's graduating class.
Speaking on the occasion, HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and congratulated the graduates and their families. She highlighted the role of education in securing financial and job security while underscoring the necessity of remaining open to new ideas and knowledge for personal development.
This year's convocation holds special significance as it marks the 30th anniversary of Qatar Foundation's establishment. Over these three decades, Qatar Foundation has been a leader in education, science, and community development, with more than 11,000 graduates making significant contributions globally.
HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater reflected on the legacy of Qatar Foundation. The minister praised the institution for redefining the role of education and equipping learners to lead with insight and integrity, aligning with Qatar's national values while remaining open to the world.
This year's graduating class, symbolically passing through the "Door to the Future," represents 74 nationalities, with a significant female representation. The ceremony also recognized 16 graduates with the Qatar Foundation's Award for Academic Excellence, highlighting their outstanding achievements.
President of Higher Education and Education Advisor at Qatar Foundation, Francisco Marmolejo, expressed pride in the students' accomplishments and highlighted the celebration of 30 years of achievements at Qatar Foundation. He stressed that the convocation is not an end but a recognition of students' hard work and a celebration of new beginnings.
Founder and CEO of WHOOP, Will Ahmed, delivered the keynote speech, celebrating the diversity and ambition of the graduates. He shared his own experiences of skepticism and empowerment, encouraging graduates to pursue their dreams with conviction.
The Qatar Foundation's higher education ecosystem includes Hamad Bin Khalifa University and seven international partner universities, offering a wide range of disciplines. This integrated environment allows students to gain a comprehensive education and engage in research, entrepreneurship, and community initiatives.
Dr. Samah Gamar, Director of Academic Affairs at Qatar Foundation, highlighted the QF Excellence Award's reflection of the student experience at Education City. Awardees were recognized for their interdisciplinary thinking and social impact, further elevating QF's commitment to real-world contributions.
